Premier Stelmach announced the province is moving forward on the Northeast section of Anthony Henday on March 2, 2011. Minister of Transportation Luke Ouellette was on hand to provide details on the 27 kilometres of six- and eight-lane divided highway. Construction on the final leg of the Edmonton ring road is set to begin in 2012 and will open to traffic in 2016.


Premier Stelmach and Transportation Minister Luke Ouellette attended Traffic Safety Day at the Alberta Legislature on Oct. 6, 2010. Traffic Safety Day is an annual even that focuses on traffic safety rules for children to help prevent injuries and save lives.

Minister of Transportation Luke Ouellette joined Premier Ed Stelmach and dignitaries to announce the start of construction on Southeast Calgary Ring Road on Friday April 9, 2010. The Alberta government signed a 33-year contract with Chinook Roads Partnership to design, build, operate and partially finance the 25-kilometre six-lane roadway that will extend from 17th Avenue SE to east of Macleod Trail.
