Rabbit Hill Road/Anthony Henday Drive Interchange

Construction is underway on the Rabbit Hill Road interchange at Anthony Henday Drive. The interchange is scheduled to open to traffic by Fall 2011.

Update (May 1, 2011) Overall, the project is 67% complete. Currently, bridge works are 65% complete. The construction of the bridge substructure (including the abutments and the pier) and the installation of girders are 100% complete with minor finishing work outstanding. The majority of the remaining bridge work involves constructing the bridge deck and barriers as well as some work on the approach and roof slabs. The first concrete pour for the bridge deck is planned for mid-June 2011. Roads works for this project are 78% complete. Grading and paving on the project is 85% complete with only the final bridge tie-ins outstanding. The remaining road work involves light and sign installations as well as landscaping of the site. The project is on budget and schedule to open in fall 2011.

Traffic changes are expected beginning mid-April 2011 with daytime (from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) single lane closures of Anthony Henday Drive within project limits and running until August 2011. Anthony Henday Drive will be reduced to single lane traffic (within the project limits) in the evening for both westbound and eastbound traffic for the deck concrete pours, starting the beginning of June 2011 and running intermittently until August 2011.
