Alberta Air Brake Program

The Alberta Air Brake Program provides drivers with information on how to operate vehicles equipped with air brakes. It must be completed and the air brake “Q” endorsement added to your Alberta Operator’s Licence before operating vehicles equipped with air brakes. Air Brake Instructors Requirements and Instructor Course Dates

All instructors delivering the Alberta Air Brake Program must be authorized air brake instructors. Air Brake Instructor Courses are offered by the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and the Southern Institute of Technology Polytechnic (SAIT). Instructors must be approved by Alberta Transportation in order to participate in these courses.

Currently for the 2014 - 2015; the following Air Brake Instructor Courses will be offered:

SAIT

BRKE-333 (Instructor Certification)

  1. Nov. 7 & 8, 14 & 15, 21 & 22, 2015
  2. March 5 & 6, 12 & 13, 21 & 22, 2016

NAIT

September 19, 2015 to October 18, 2015 
Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am to 4:00pm

April 9, 2016 to May 5, 2016
Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am to 4:00pm

Air Brake Organizations
