Financial assistance for Core Capital Infrastructure projects, such as municipal roads, bridges, public transit vehicles and facilities, water and wastewater systems and facilities, storm drainage systems and facilities, emergency service vehicles and facilities, and infrastructure management system software. May also include other capital projects, such as cultural and recreational facilities, community environmental and energy systems and facilities, solid waste management systems and facilities, municipal buildings and other municipal physical infrastructure. The program will provide a total of three billion dollars over a five year period, commencing 2005/06. |

| Financial assistance for Sustainable Capital Municipal Infrastructure in support of the desired outcomes of cleaner air, cleaner water, and the reduction of green house gases. Eligible projects include public transit, water and wastewater, solid waste, community energy systems, community capacity building. For communities with less than 500,000 population, the funding may also be used for rehabilitation of roads and bridges. The program, based on the return to the province of a portion of the federal gasoline tax, will provide a total of approximately $477 million over the first five year period, commencing 2005/06. | ||

This "new" consolidated program consists of the following grant components: City Transportation Fund (CTF), Basic Capital Grant (BCG), Provincial Highway Maintenance (PHM), Streets Improvement Program and Streets Improvement Program for Hamlets (SIP), and Rural Transportation Grant (RTG). Financial assistance for developing and maintaining capital transportation infrastructure requirements, promoting economic growth, and improving quality of community life. This program provides annual allocation-based funding for capital construction and rehabilitation of local transportation infrastructure including roads, bridges, and public transit. |

This "new" consolidated program consists of the following grant components: Community Airport Program (CAP), Local Road Bridge (LRB), Resource Road Program (RRP) and Local Municipal Initiative (LMI). Financial assistance for developing and maintaining key transportation infrastructure to promote economic growth and improve mobility, through strategic, project-specific investment in capital construction and rehabilitation of important local transportation infrastructure, including local and regional roads, municipal bridges, airports, and resource roads. |

Financial assistance for water/wastewater, environmental energy improvements, solid waste management, local transportation, culture, recreation, tourism, connectivity, and municipal capacity building. Projects are cost-shared to a maximum per-capita allocation based on 1/3 federal, 1/3 provincial, and 1/3 municipal cost-sharing. The second round of project applications was completed in Spring 2007. It is not accepting applications. |
