Manuals and Standard Drawings:
The department publishes specification manuals, standard drawing manuals, and a number of specialty manuals for use on highway and bridge construction projects.  All of the publications are available electronically on the Department’s web site, and/or they may be purchased in hard-copy from the Department by contacting Nicola Camplin at (780)415-1068 or via email at nicola.camplin@gov.ab.ca.

• Standard Specifications for Highway Construction – Edition 14, 2010: The department publishes a type of master specification which contains General Specifications (standard conditions) and Highway Construction Specifications (technical specifications), which by reference form part of the tender and final contract documents.
   
• Specifications for Bridge Construction – 2010:  The department also publishes a type of master specification which contains General Specifications (standard conditions) and Bridge Construction Specifications (technical specifications), which by reference form part of the tender and final contract documents.
   
• Specification Amendments and Supplemental Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction – Edition 13, 2007: This manual includes amendments and supplemental specifications that have not yet been incorporated into the main Manuals.
