Highway 22X - From Deerfoot Trail to 85 Street SW

Alberta Transportation has commissioned a study to develop the long term functional plan for the south section of the Calgary Ring Road - Hwy 22X from Deerfoot Trail to west of 85 Street SW. TransTech Focus has been retained to conduct this functional planning study. The Technical Review Committee for the study includes representatives from The City of Calgary and the Municipal District of Foothills.

A final recommended plan has been submitted. It includes:

  • all required rights-of-way to accommodate the ultimate stage corridor plans for this portion of the ring road and
  • corridor plans for initial construction within a 2035 horizon.

Stakeholder communication was an important component of this study. Over the several months of the study, stakeholders, community associations, and members of the public had opportunities to view the alternatives considered and provide input and comments. That information was considered by the project team as they develop the recommended corridor plan.
