Stoney Trail/Trans-Canada Highway Interchange
The Stoney Trail Extension Project will connect Highway 1 (Trans-Canada Highway) to Highway 2 (Deerfoot Trail). When completed it will be a four lane divided roadway located in the northwest quadrant of the city. The project has been divided into various components with varying completion dates. The entire extension is scheduled to be complete in the fall of 2009, weather permitting.
Stantec Consulting has been engaged by Alberta Transportation for the design and construction management of the Trans-Canada Highway interchange which will replace the existing signalized intersection at Trans-Canada Highway and Stoney Trail. This new interchange requires no traffic signals and will provide improved access and safety while reducing travel time.
