Stoney Trail / Macleod Trail Interchange Improvements

The Calgary Ring Road Extension Project has connected Highway 1 to Highway 1 around the north end of The City of Calgary.  It is envisioned the extension of the project to Highway 2A (Macleod Trail) will be completed by fall of 2013 around the southeast corner of The City of Calgary.  The current interchange at Stoney Trail and Macleod Trail has only one lane in each direction with a signalized intersection on the west side.

Aecom has been engaged by Alberta Transportation for the design and construction management of the Macleod Trail Interchange Improvements.  This proposed interchange improvement project will remove the existing traffic signals on Stoney Trail (Highway 22X) and will provide improved safety while reducing travel time by adding a second lane of traffic in each direction.

Project Completion: Fall 2014
